Prince of Peace Teabag Green Tea 'Organic Jasmine Green Tea'

Tea Information:
Tea: Organic Jasmine Green Tea
Type: Green Tea
Packaging: Teabag
Company: Prince of Peace
Purchase: Here
Description: Jasmine Green Tea is one of the most popular teas in China. Jasmine is picked in the heat of the day, when the flowers are closed tight. When Jasmine blossoms are blended with the green tea leaves, they create this fragrant and refreshing tea. It also offers a large number of health benefits, with a history of use dating back 4,000 years.

Green Tea has proven antioxidant properties. It helps the body maintain its natural good health and enhance immune functions. Jasmine, native to the Persian Gulf, was brought to china in the third century A.D. Green tea enriched with the scent of jasmine flowers has long been one of the favorite healthy beverages in china. Jasmine has traditionally been popular for its comforting, relaxing and warming qualities, for brightening one's mood, and as a soothing digestive beverage. Prince of Peace tea is made from fragrant jasmine flowers combined with mild green tea leaves, creating a delicious aromatic beverage.

Prince of Peace Organic Jasmine Green Tea is sourced from the certified organic tea plantation in China. One of the key ingredients in Jasmine Green Tea is polyphenol catechins, which has antioxidant properties. Antioxidants combat free radicals which can cause cell damage. Recent scientific research has investigated green tea's benefits toward maintaining cardiovascular health, strong immunity and proper cellular tissue growth.*

Typically, a cup of organic green tea contains on average about 20 mg of caffeine.

Ingredients: Serving Size: 1 bag, Organic Jasmine Green Tea Leaves 2,000mg

Steep Information:
Amount: 1 teabag, 2.3g
Additives: none
Water: 130 °ree F hot spigot water
Steep Time: a little over 5 minutes, i tried in 1 min increments, and kept going
Served: Hot

Tasting Notes:
Dry Leaf Smell: like paper
Steeped Tea Smell: light Jasmine
Flavor: light jasmine, green tea, bitter

In the bundle of gifts I got from Janefan.
It had paper packaging, and I think may have aged away it's strong flavor.
I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt.
Either way paper is not ideal storage for teabags *shrug*

I am not recommending this tea.

Twinings of London Teabag Green Tea 'Jasmine Green Tea'

Tea Information:
Tea: Jasmine Green Tea
Type: Green Tea
Packaging: Teabag
Company: Twinings of London
Purchase: Here
Description: Pure and natural refreshing green tea lightly scented with jasmine flowers for a delicate fragrance.

Green tea is known for its smooth flavor and refreshing taste. Green teas are made from leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant, the same leaves as black tea. Green teas go through a process where the leaves are heated to prevent oxidation while black teas are oxidized for additional color and flavor. Twinings' Jasmine Green Tea is layered with freshly picked jasmine flowers, allowing the tea leaves to absorb the delicate fragrance. The result is a mild and refreshing tea with an alluring aroma.

Ingredients: ?

Steep Information:
Amount: 1 teabag
Additives: none
Water: 135 F hot water spigot, 1 mug full
Steep Time: a little over 3 minutes
Served: Hot

Tasting Notes:
Dry Leaf Smell: jasmine, floral, grassy
Steeped Tea Smell: jasmine, floral
Flavor: Smooth floral, followed by grassy
Body: Light
Aftertaste: grassy, vegetal, slightly bitter
Liquor: dark translucent honey brown

Still have the stuffy nose / head cold so things may be stronger than I think.

This was a gift from Janefan.

Not too bad, I also wasn't expecting much from a bagged tea. For a go to bagged tea at work this is a good green tea. I don't think I'd buy this - but I am glad to have a stash of it for now. Next time I think I may sweeten it and steep 2 minutes instead of 3.

Post-Steep Additives: none

Resteep: I don't usually resteep at work

Rating: 1/3

Try 2

Steep Information:
Amount: 1 teabag
Additives: 1 agave nectar stick
Water: 145 F hot water spigot, 1 mug full
Steep Time: a little over 2 minutes
Served: Hot

Much better, less bitter, with agave and 2 minutes.

Post-Steep Additives: none
