Tasting Notes:
Dry Leaf Smell: sweet, cinnamon, vanilla, clove, and something else I can not quite figure out
Steeped Tea Smell: vanilla, cinnamon, sweet, cardamom
Flavor: mild black tea, vanilla, cinnamon
Body: Medium
Aftertaste:
Liquor: Translucent green-brown

Gift from a co-worker who loves strong black teas.

I am shocked by the mild nature of the black tea in this blend. It relaly takes a back seat to the cinnamon and vanilla.

Post-Steep Additives: one honey stick. Now the flavor is a nice mellow sweet cinnamon, with hints of vanila.

Just too mild for me. It was a nice sipping tea, but I want my spiced black teas to have a kick.

Rating: 2/4 leaves

Leaf system:
1=Bleh! not again if it were free
2=Acceptable, if it were free or there were limited other tea options
3=I might purchase this tea from time to time, or select it while out
4=A staple in our cupboard from now on, I will purchase and keep purchasing

Twinings of London Teabag Black Tea 'Earl Grey Decaffeinated'

Tea Information:
Tea: Earl Grey Decaffeinated
Type: Black Tea
Packaging: Teabag
Company: Twinings of London
Purchase: Here
Description: Fine black tea expertly blended with the citrus fruit flavor of bergamot, to deliver an uplifting tea with a unique floral aroma and refreshing taste.
Ingredients: Decaffeinated Black Tea, Bergamot Flavouring

Steep Information:
Amount: 1 Teabag, 2.1g
Additives: none
Water:154° 8 ounce hot spigot water
Steep Time: a little over 4 minutes, I started with 2 and kept adding
Served: Hot

Tasting Notes:
Dry Leaf Smell: not much smell from the bag
Steeped Tea Smell: not much smell from the tea
Flavor: brown water, no flavor
Body: N/A
Aftertaste: N/A
Liquor: dark brown

This came as part of a gift and is of unknown age and history so I am refraining from rating this tea. I had very low expectations to begin with as I look down on decaffeinated teas (caffeine free is a different story) but I was expecting bitter not flavorless.

Twinings of London Teabag Green Tea 'Jasmine Green Tea'

Tea Information:
Tea: Jasmine Green Tea
Type: Green Tea
Packaging: Teabag
Company: Twinings of London
Purchase: Here
Description: Pure and natural refreshing green tea lightly scented with jasmine flowers for a delicate fragrance.

Green tea is known for its smooth flavor and refreshing taste. Green teas are made from leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant, the same leaves as black tea. Green teas go through a process where the leaves are heated to prevent oxidation while black teas are oxidized for additional color and flavor. Twinings' Jasmine Green Tea is layered with freshly picked jasmine flowers, allowing the tea leaves to absorb the delicate fragrance. The result is a mild and refreshing tea with an alluring aroma.

Ingredients: ?

Steep Information:
Amount: 1 teabag
Additives: none
Water: 135 F hot water spigot, 1 mug full
Steep Time: a little over 3 minutes
Served: Hot

Tasting Notes:
Dry Leaf Smell: jasmine, floral, grassy
Steeped Tea Smell: jasmine, floral
Flavor: Smooth floral, followed by grassy
Body: Light
Aftertaste: grassy, vegetal, slightly bitter
Liquor: dark translucent honey brown

Still have the stuffy nose / head cold so things may be stronger than I think.

This was a gift from Janefan.

Not too bad, I also wasn't expecting much from a bagged tea. For a go to bagged tea at work this is a good green tea. I don't think I'd buy this - but I am glad to have a stash of it for now. Next time I think I may sweeten it and steep 2 minutes instead of 3.

Post-Steep Additives: none

Resteep: I don't usually resteep at work

Rating: 1/3

Try 2

Steep Information:

Steep Time: a little over 2 minutes

Much better, less bitter, with agave and 2 minutes.

Post-Steep Additives: none

Rating: 1.5/3
