TeaGschwendner Loose Leaf Rooibos Tisane ‘Winter Magic’ 1320

Type: Rooibos a.k.a. Red Tisane (Tea is technically only from the camellia sinensis plant)

Description: Cinnamon, cardamom and sandalwood melt into the creaminess of rooibush tea and almond for a welcome break from the winter cold.
Ingredients: Rooibush tea from Africa, cinnamon bits, almond bits, cardamom husks, flavor and cardamom seeds.

Steep Information:
Amount: 2 tsp
Water: 6oz boiling
Tool: Cast Iron Teapot with Mesh basket strainer
Steep Time: a little over 5 minutes
Served: Hot

Tasting Notes:
Dry Leaf Smell: cinnamon, wood
Steeped Tea Smell: cinnamon, cardamom, wood
Flavor: rooibos woody, cinnamon, closes with cardamom kick
Body: Full
Aftertaste: cardamom, hints of wood
Liquor: dark opaque red-brown

Really have no feelings good or bad, it just seemed average.

Tasting Notes:
Dry Leaf Smell: candied apples
Steeped Tea Smell: sweet apple cider
Flavor: like caramel apple spice drink from Starbucks
Body: Light
Aftertaste: sweet, apples
Liquor: translucent orange-yellow

Delicious! A sweet treat, without sugar, probably even better with!

Water: 12oz hot spigot water (150-160 historically)

Steep Time: a little over 2 minutes

Tasting Notes:
Dry Leaf Smell: cinnamon, spice, Christmas
Steeped Tea Smell: floral white tea with some spice
Flavor: fruity, floral with a hint of spice on the back of the sip
Body: Medium
Aftertaste: cinnamon, a touch bitter
Liquor: translucent orange-red-brown

I think there was some scent cross-contamination?

Resteep: 2-3 min, pretty much same as the first, this has staying power!

Ingredients: Rooibush tea, Peppercorns, Strawberry pieces, Strawberry leaves, Flavor

Amount: 6tsp
Additives: none
Water: 1 cast iron teapot full of filtered boiling water
Tool: Cast Iron Teapot with Mesh basket strainer
Steep Time: a little over 5 minutes
Served: Hot

Tasting Notes:
Dry Leaf Smell: Berry, Woody
Steeped Tea Smell: Berry, woody, hint of pepper
Flavor: sweet strawberry, woody
Body: Medium
Aftertaste: pepper
Liquor: deep dark reddish-brown

This was a very interesting tea, a nice smooth fresh strawberry (not sweet like a pie or candy), with a hint of rooibos, then an aftertaste of light pepper.

I am enjoying my cup, I don't think I'll buy it again, but I am very much enjoying this.

The kept saying Rooibush, I am assuming this is the same as Rooibos.

Post-Steep Additives: none

Resteep: 5 min, very weak, a few more minutes and it was peppery rooibos the strawberry seems to be subdued
